The nopal lounger is a reclined armless lounge chair which explores methods for creating robust, sustainable, designer furniture items. The design is built around a 100% recycleable aluminium frame, which is secured using stainless steel bolts. The main seat structure is woven from Danish paper cord, and the timber is American Oak. The upholstery is a plant-based leather alternative made from nopal cactus food waste, and for the cushion inners I've opted for sap latex rather than traditional petroleum-derived upholstery foams.
