Developed as part of the Oxide collection for the 2025 Melbourne Design Week by/product exhibition at Craft Victoria, the Vault Stool is a minimal and robust chair made from welded aluminium sheet. The seat cushion takes inspiration from the world of couture craftsmanship, with a stuffed woven upholstery wrap that features a corset closure on the back. With a heavy focus on sustainable design, the upholstery steers away from traditional petroleum based foams and instead uses natural rubber latex and cotton, and a leather alternative made from prickly pear food waste.
The Vault Stool and cushion can be sold seperately.
The stool can also be made with a simple seat cushion without a woven wrap.
Shown here is the original design in black cactus leather and waxed aluminium. Custom fabric, colour and powder coat options are available.
