Stainless Steel, Danish Cord
The Bound Stool is a sturdy, comfortable seat made from durable materials designed to age gracefully with use. Over time the cord with soften and relax, and the frame will patinate without rusting, resulting in a texturally layered and unique chair made to last through repeated use.
This design will debut at Melbourne Design Week 2026, as part of the exhibition 100 Chairs, with a custom colourway inspired by Scottish tartan. Different strands of hand-dyed Danish cord will be used to echo the contrasting warp and weft of the iconic cloth, woven around a brightly powder-coated stainless steel frame.
The Bound collection began with the Bound Chair, developed in response to concerns around the environmental impact of furniture design. The series uses deconstructible construction and fully recyclable or biodegradable components to produce designer furniture that minimises impact both in its making and at the end of its life.
We are able to do custom powder coat, upholstery and dyed-cord options.
